POSITION: Program Assistant
REPORTS TO: Unit Director
HOURS OF WORK: Part Time

The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is a nonprofit, charitable, educational organization recognized as a leading advocate for youth development, working to help youth of all backgrounds.

We provide girls and boys with effective diverse programs and services; and demonstrate that caring adults can truly help young people grow into contributing human beings with the necessary skills for living.
Reporting to the Unit Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of youth and implementing fun and engaging academic enrichment and recreational programs. The Program Assistant will support the work of the Unit director and may participate in special programs or events. The Program Assistant will oversee the daily activities of Club members. Light maintenance and upkeep of program areas and the facilities will be required to maintain the cleanliness of the Clubhouse. May be required to lift up to fifty (50 pounds). Participation in other Clubhouse activities may be required. Must have reliable transportation.
This is a Part time position (20 hours), Monday – Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. during regular school year with extended seasonal hours in the summer (40 hours). $16-$18/hour.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred but not required
Experience: A minimum of one year experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
Skills/Knowledge required in the following areas:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills including and understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English) but not required.
