IMPORTANT - Effective March 9, 2022
Dear Parents and Families:
The Boys & Girls Club has changed its mask-wearing policy due to many factors: feedback from medical professionals, including the local Department of Public Health, as well as the public school system’s policy change and the recent and significant drop in COVID cases. Effective March 9, 2022, the Club will no longer require all staff, members, and visitors to wear masks; mask-wearing will be optional.
We recognize there are staff and Club members who may not be ready to forgo wearing a mask. Some of our staff and members may have health issues or have not received the COVID-19 vaccine. These situations may put them more at risk for COVID and therefore they may feel more comfortable continuing to wear a mask. We want to make sure that whether people decide to wear a mask or not, we are providing all who enter our facilities with a positive environment that supports either decision.
Please help us explain this new policy to your child(ren) and make sure they are aware that they are expected to respect families and youths’ decisions, regardless if it is different from their own.
The Boys & Girls Club will continue to monitor the health and safety of all those who work or attend the Club. If there is an increase in COVID cases, we may temporarily require mask-wearing again. In addition, if a child is experiencing cold- or flu-like symptoms, they will be required to wear a mask while they’re in our facility (or may be sent home if they have severe symptoms). If you have any questions regarding our new protocol, please contact us at 508-754-2686.
Thank you and be well,
Liz
