Libis Bueno was born in the Dominican Republic and arrived in the United States in 1986 at the age of 16. He immediately embraced the Boys & Girls Club culture, where he participated in activities such as swimming. “The Club gave me the freedom to explore new things since I had just arrived from Dominican Republic. It gave me an opportunity to interact with other kids and learn English.” Libis strongly believes in the message of the Club, and how our staff can act as mentors and truly change the lives of the kids they serve.
After earning his degree in Computer Science & Technology, Libis worked at the Pentagon for three months, and traveled the country providing technical support. He is also a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. As a successful entrepreneur, Libis created Domitek, a computer services company. He is most proud, however, of being a dedicated father to his three children, Libessa, Kalib, and Kamila.
