Are you a teen looking for academic support, college assistance, job trainings, and/or college scholarships? If so, the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is the place for you. There are several ways the Club can help you #begreat and prepare for the future:
- Academic Support: Our Learning Center offers homework help, tutoring, and SAT prep. We also recognize that the future is full of technology, so we make sure our kids are ready by offering STEM-base workshops, supplies such as a 3D printer and robotics, and a Mac Lab with access to digital art programs.
- College Prep: Our staff assist youth with college applications, essays, reccomendations, and financial aid packages. We offer college scholarships each year to kids entering college and for those who are returning students. Fact: 100% of our 2017 graduating high school seniors are currently attending college.
- Community Service: Our leadership group, “The Keystone Club”, is member-run group whose focus is serving the community both inside and outside of the Club. Past community service projects include creating a foodscape map of Worcester with students from WPI, park clean-ups, advocating at youth rallies, and mentoring younger Club members. Our kids even traveled to Chicago to attend Boys & Girls Club of America’s Youth Leadership Conference to educate others on their strategies, and learn new ways to give back.
- Job Readiness: Teen Club members are offered the opportunity to participate in our 8-week job readiness program which includes resume-writing workshops, job-shadowing opportunities, and certifications such as lifeguarding and ServSafe. Club members who complete the 8-week program are eligible to work at the Club as table captains in Kids Café, program assistants, and front desk support.
You are our future, and we will help get you there. To inquire about a FREE teen membership, please contact our front desk at (508) 754-2686 to set up a new member orientation.
